For many years I heard stories of people experiencing unusual aerial phenomenon, known as UFO's. I always suspected that there is more to it then what newspapers and TV stations told us about the subject. The multitude of close encounters is overwhelming, it fascinates me and I made some effort to obtain acceptable explanations of the phenomenon from various other sources, with more or less success. Suffice to say...though I always try to keep a healthy skepticism and rational when it comes to everything in my life, I firmly believe the existence of life in the universe besides Earth, because the seeds of it are out there. Furthermore, according to science, the real possibility of lifeforms are in the millions among the stars, and some could be highly intelligent. I can only imagine what a civilization, with several thousand, or million years of advanced technology can accomplish!? But never in a million years had I thought this would happen to me. My story started several years ago on a sunny summer day, out on the farm when everything changed dramatically. That was the day when I got tangible answer to my question about the existence of extraterrestrial life. It happened at a time when I cleared arguments with neighbors, family and friends-about things and life in general- and settled to work in peace and harmony with nature, minding my own business. Funny how days are getting shorter the older you get! Things don't matter as much, and learned to let go of things I can't do nothing about. Out on the vast opening of the prairie the wind is warm and soothing, and the sunsets are gratifying after a day of hard work. The shade of a tree that gives shelter is priceless to a thirsty soul. There are several trees around my farmhouse, and one big and bold, far out on the field, under which I used to get solace from the relentless, midday sun. The tractor's engine made a strange sound that day, and needed to be looked at, so I decided to get under shade, fix it and have a break the same time. Some time passed while asleep, and when I awoke the sun was still high in the sky. There were no chirps in the tree. I looked up to see where the birds have gone, and then I noticed an object between the branches high above the tree... I would say about fifty feet. I didn't know what to make of it. It was shiny and round, apparently metallic, because it reflected the sunshine. Just standing there completely silent. My curiosity increased and stepped out from under the tree to have a better look. It didn't move and by the size of the tree's canopy I could estimate the size of it. Huge...it must have been at least fifty feet in diameter, smooth surface with no markings at all. I watched for a couple of minutes in awe, then it started to move, completely silent and very slow towards the corn field to the east of my house. It didn't loose any altitude, just coasted with an even speed. I followed with interest and I still did, when it went past the edge of the cornfield. The object stopped for a while above the creek which divided the cornfield, then descended and disappeared from my sight. Can you imagine my amazement? What is this thing? It must be a UFO! My heart was racing but I couldn't stop following. I just had to see what this strange object was doing in my cornfield. I separated the stalks, and tiptoed carefully closer and closer to the site. I stopped when I was close enough to see the object between the stalks. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest, so I decided to proceed to the right, parallel with the creek and step out... or perhaps just have a peek from a distance. I made about thirty steps and poked my head out. The creek is about ten feet wide and the water is two feet deep on that stretch. There is some vegetation on the banks, but no more then three feet high. The object is hovering in the middle of the creek with the greenery almost touching its bottom. Its perimeter on both sides of the creek bending the top of the cornstalks. This thing is big, and is like two plates joined at the rims facing each other. In the middle must be about ten to twelve feet high. As there was no commotion watching it for a few moments, I stepped out in the open and made a couple of steppes towards the object to have a closer look. I stopped suddenly when I heard a crackling sound thirty feet in front of me close to the water's edge. I swear I missed a heartbeat, and wide eyed watched the bush ahead where the sound came from. Standing there frozen I saw a head and then a body appear, strange looking, the size of a child and visibly out of proportion. Its big head turned, looked at me, and as both of us were startled by the sight of each other, made a step back at the same time. We stood there staring for... I don't know how long. I thought of running away at some point seeing there is no way out of this standoff, when the creature slowly raised its hand towards me with palm facing down. I thought -this is the way it is going to kill me with some sort of a ray from its hand,- but no! I heard a voice in my head so loud, that I looked around to see where the sound came from. -I mean you no harm!- said the voice as if 'It' knew what I was thinking. The creature held a beautiful shiny blue cylinder in 'Its' other hand, lifted it up towards me, held it vertically with both hands, and then looked down onto the water below. I didn't hear any voice but I realized what 'It' meant by this unmistakable gesture. Then 'It' looked back at me, I nervously nodded in approval, then the creature turned and walked towards the craft. With a faint hiss, a door with stairs came down from the belly of the craft, the creature casually walked up, and the door closed behind it seamlessly. The craft slowly ascended, then I heard a sound like a balloon pop, and the craft fast disappeared in the sky. I could follow it with my eyes for a while and then nothing. It took some time to compose myself. As the craft was departing I heard a thump in the grass at my feet. I picked it up. It was the most beautiful thing I ever saw, in the shape of a tetrahedron, about three inches tall, made from some sort of a metal, but very light and shiny. It's surface is like mirror, and any side I placed it on, it always looked the same, perfectly symmetric. This was too much excitement to take in at ones, so I called the day, and went inside. I had very little sleep that night. Some weeks past, but I had no clue what the little object is for. I showed it to some friends at the village pub, called "The Tipsy Cheeks". I told the story and how I got it, but they laughed and didn't take me seriously. -Body... you had too much to drink!- Throw it away... its going to give you bad dreams! -they said. After some ridicule I even thought to get rid of it. Tired of arguing to prove my case, and carrying it around, I set it on the top of my fridge as decoration. I surely had no other use for it. I begun to believe that it was just a little present from my ET pal... a gesture to remember 'It' by. But soon after strange things started to happen around the house. I realized that ever since I had the little tetrahedron my electricity bills were getting smaller and smaller. The more I use the less I pay. I needed more proof of what I started to suspect. What else can this thing do? When I took the 'thing' with me on the fields the tractor never ran out of fuel, and when I checked the tank, there was pure water in it, and the engine worked better than ever. After that I never mentioned the 'thing' at all to anyone. One hot night when I opened the fridge for a cold beer I saw the object glow with a cool white color. In my amazement I reached for it and said out loud; -O my, o my friend... what a heck are you doing? - and couldn't help but think of the craft and the creature I saw on the side of the creek. I turned it round and round to see which side is brighter. Suddenly a beam of light emanated from each side of the tetrahedron and they stopped at three feet distance each, like they were cut by something. One of them even went through my hand like it wasn't there, but my hand was fine. I got startled and dropped the 'thing'. Looked where the object was, because I didn't hear the sound of it falling. It was levitating in the air on top of one of the beams. Just standing there in the middle of the room like a tree with three light branches spread out. A faint image of a face started to appear between the branches, getting stronger, until it was clear enough to see that it's my ET friend, and then the body followed in full size. -Greetings!- It took long!- I heard the voice coming from the image without moving it's mouth. I just assume it was its mouth, the short slit below the two holes...what I think are its air intake. 'It' was standing there, from a step distance, staring back up at me with those big, light blue eyes. Everything happened so fast that no words could come out of me. The sudden turn of events are just too much to process.
